The above photo is not the centerfold in the new issue of Sports Riders magazine, instead it’s the upcoming alternative football uniform for Nebraska Corn-huskers.  The consensus opinion for the alternative design seems to be that the uniform is breaking too far away from the tradition and more importantly, that it just look hideous.   Well I never been a fan of mr.consensus (I hear he steals others peoples lunches at work and downloads nothing but Japanese tentacle anime during work hours…. Oh wait, I am looking at my google calendar).

I unlike others who fall within the tradition loving mainstream, actually find the above uniform very aesthetically pleasing.  I love the black and red combination as well as the thin stripes around the uniform that accentuate the design.  The cuckold inducing John Holmes codpiece is another matter but nothing in the world is prefect right?   Is it the most beautiful design ever drawn up by some gay guy at Adidas?  Probably not, but remember that this is the first major initiative by Adidas to get alternative uniforms involved for all it’s sponsored colleges, and also remember that first Nike designed alternative uniforms for Oregon Ducks in 2000 actually looked like this.

It’s a step toward the right direction by Adidas in appealing to the recruits  of this generation and beyond, and as time progresses on the designs will get better to appease to both the traditionalists and the progressives of the schools.    The techfit technology however…   That shit needs to go son.
